At the crossroads of concert, cabaret, and club culture, Monster Mother invites audiences into an experience where the sexy meets the monstrous, drive by a female gaze.
Drawing on the histories of bimbos, witches, and freaks, and nourished by the countercultures of erotic dance, Tatiana Julien performs to the music of Cate Hortl through a series of figures suspended between the sexy and the monstrous, beauty and grotesque. Each act contributes to a sweeping reclamation of femine archetypes, questioning our relationship to desire, sexuality, and intimacy.

*** Duo • Tatiana Julien + Cate Hortl — a compact, intimate, and immersive format.
*** Monster Mother’s Club • Tatiana Julien + Cate Hortl + Guests — an extended version conceived as a hybrid cabaret/nightclub experience, punctuated by performances, DJ sets, and guest artists performing alongside Tatians and Cate. The line-up is reimagined for each event and in collaboration with each presenting partner and with locally based artists.
*** Acts • Tatiana Julien solo — individual acts from Monster Mother can be presented within cabaret, shared-event formats, and parties.
